How the President is Perceived by the Military

A little background. Little Green Footballs has a section of each thread in which commenters are able to post links to articles they believe to be of interest to the general audience.  This can be news articles, You Tubes, photos, or a thread written on their own blog.

While scanning through the links this morning, I came across a video posted by RealRevo, a group of writers co-writing a blog.  This video was created by RealRevo and is comprised of a compilation of videos graphically displaying the difference in how President Bush and President Obama are perceived by the military; in this case the US Marine Corps.

I thought you might enjoy it as much as I did.

A cynic might attempt to state the two groups were coached to behave as they did, but you have only to look at the faces of the audience to blow that theory out of the water.  Perhaps the difference in surroundings?  One is informal, the other setting appears more formal.

No.

The difference in reactions is directly linked to how the Marines perceive the President feels about them.  President Bush admired and respected the military and it showed in how he dealt with them; President Obama?  Not so much.  He may respect and admire the military, but there is certainly no overt display of such feelings.  Nor are there any such demonstrations of respect and admiration reflected when he is discussing the military and the use of the military.  One gets the feeling that the military to President Obama is nothing more than a household tool, like a mop.

The military respected not only the office of Commander in Chief but also the man, George Bush, while they are only required to respect the position that Barry holds. He has gotten the same response at events here in DC. He is not a Commander in Chief, he is still just a neighborhood organizer.
