Ending a Tax Cut is Not an Increase in Taxes-Pelosi
While many of us are angered by the sheer magnitude of the rampant spending, government growth, increased taxes, and eradication of tax breaks, which allowed Americans to keep some of the wealth they created; we have always known there were many Democrats who feel President Obama is not going far nor fast enough.
Speaker Pelosi is one of these. She criticized Republicans Thursday because they dared to speak out against Obamas schemes to raise taxes on "wealthy" (their definition of just who is wealthy changes day to day based on their whims or audience) to pay for the government health care program.
Pelosi feels Obama is being generous in allowing wealthy citizens to keep their wealth. "Quite frankly, I would have done it faster," she said, noting that the phaseout of top-tier tax breaks will take years to complete.
"It's not about raising taxes," Pelosi said. "It's about ending a tax cut."
She goes on to say the Democrats will not slow down their assaults in creating health care reform. "It's very clear that it is the priority of this Congress and this president as we move forward," she said. "I would say to those who criticize this investment that this is a priority, the health of our people."
Ending a tax cut? In her opinion this is not raising taxes. In her mind taking money from those that have it in order to give to those that do not is a fair and equitable solution to any problems the Democrats face in pushing through their agenda. Call it by what ever name you desire, it all boils down to a redistribution of citizens wealth. As usual.
