Winter blahs

It's going down to the low 20s tonight.  For some readers, this isn't particularly cold, but for Coastal Georgia?  It's cold.

A little disclaimer.  I have lived in Colorado, Massachusetts, Kentucky, and Germany.  I have taken Winter Survival training in Alaska in Winter.  I know what cold is and know I do not like it, which is a major reason I am still living in Coastal Georgia.  At least I am spared the winter wonderland of snowfall and ice, even if we do get somewhat cold.

After I had been living here for six years, I was just starting to get a little nostalgic for snow.  Until I had to go to Salt Lake City to deliver and set up plants for a "Holiday On Ice" skating show.  We got stuck on top of the mountains overnight while crossing from Colorado to Utah in a rather large blizzard in November 1998.  That cured me forever more of any notions of ever liking snow again.  If I want to see it, I will turn on the movie "White Christmas", admire the scenery briefly and go back to relative warmth.

I know people around the country are cold.  Many are snowed in.  Parts of the country are still without electricity due to a large snowstorm - some of my relatives fall in this latter category.

In the spirit of knowing Spring is eventually coming and to relieve some of the Winter blahs, I am posting a picture of one of my favorite plants taken late last year; a white Brugmansia in it's second year that I grew from a cutting.  There is a yellow Brugmansia to it's side and another to its rear and so far I have a total of five Brugmansias that I grew from cuttings.
