Protests against Israel
The blogger known as Zombie has put together another superb photo essay, "January 10, 2009: The Intifada is globalized as the Gaza War becomes a world war", a collection of videos and photos gathered of protests from around the world. What were they protesting? The fact that Israel had the temerity to strike back. I highly recommend readers go and view the collection of videos and excellent narrative explaining it all at the site Zomblog.
Zombie was assisted in this endeavor by a few other bloggers from around the world, Ringo the Gringo, J, Harrys Place, Gateway Pundit, and The Jewish Odysseus among others I suspect I've missed.
The question arises, what brings up this level of vehemence? What prompts protesters to holler such remarks as, “We want to kill all the Jews, all the Jews should be slain, they have no right to exist!“ as was hollered in Denmark. “Hitler! Heil Hitler! Hitler! Hitler!" and “We must just kill all those Jews, man!” also heard on video in Denmark. “Allahu Ackbar! Today, we are all Hamas!…Hamas is our leader to liberation…. Israel has dug its grave!” heard in London. “Run, you f**king cowards, run!” protesters were yelling at police as the protesters chased the FLEEING London police. In L.A. we were treated to cries of, "“Long Live Hitler” and “Put Jews in ovens". In Germany, the police broke into an apartment to remove an Israeli flag from an apartment window because the protesters threatened violence. In other cities, counter demonstrators with pro-Israeli flags and signs were forcibly removed from the premises.
What has changed to cause demonstrators to stop using euphemisms such as Zionism and start the open Jew hating? When did it become socially acceptable in the public and medias eyes to start this behavior, much less applaud it? When did it become permissible to openly and proudly associate with neo-Nazi groups and say Jews needed "to be put in ovens"? Or "kill all the Jews"? Why is there no condemnation by civil liberty groups? By the UN? By the media? By JEWISH ORGANIZATIONS IN THE UNITED STATES? Have they lost all their perspective?
Where does this hatred for Israel come from? Hamas supporters claim Israel has gone too far this time allowing too many civilian casualties and unleashing a disproportionately large response. What is a disproportionate response? Israel has been bombarded ever since they withdrew from Gaza back in 2005. Is it disproportionate to take out the infrastructure that will permit and encourage these rockets and mortars to slam into Israel on a daily basis? Where were all these protesters when the rockets and mortars were slamming into Sderot and other villages on a daily basis? The Israelis put messages on the radio. They put messages on the Gazans cell phones and landlines warning them of impending attacks. Ask why do the Gazans place women and children around these targets. Why do the Gazans place their children on roof tops when they are firing at the Israelis? Why do the Gazans place their rockets and other arms in places like schools, hospitals, and mosques? Why do the Gazans fire their rockets and mortars from these same places? Why do the Gazan hierarchy hide in the basements of the hospital? That is those of them that are not urging their fellow Gazans to repel the Israelis from their den of safety in Syria? Where is the world outrage over this outrageous behavior?
What is there about Israel that is threatening to its neighbors?
Ok, so spelling is not a requirement for these bigots. But, isn't it cute how she dressed her kids in "Palestinian" colors and let the smallest one take part by carrying a sign stating "Jews are terro..st" (the bar is in the way, so I don't know if that one is spelled correctly or not)
Some interesting details concerning Israel and her neighbors.
