Captured Hamas Intelligence: Hamas plan to turn neighborhood into a warzone
Hamas apologists have been complaining for days of extremely high casualty rates, with disproportionate rates of women and children being killed. One interesting point that sticks out in my mind is ....... who verifies any of these casualties? The numbers released by the Israelis and those released by Hamas do not even come close to matching. But, lets take Hamas at their figures. What accounts for larger numbers of women and children being killed? I know the Israeli soldiers are not targeting them. They are a professional Army in every respect.
Why have the civilians not removed women and children to outlaying areas out of the way of combat operations. The Israelis have made a point of broadcasting their targets at any particular time over the radio and by cell phone. According to the AP in a story published on 27 Dec, "Late Saturday, thousands of Gazans received Arabic-language
cell-phone messages from the Israeli military, urging them to leave
homes where militants might have stashed weapons." So, it isn't like they are surprised by these operations. The answer is easy, Hamas wants them to remain in place as shields and for propaganda purposes. What and who determines just what qualifies a Gazan as a dead combatant or a dead civilian? They wear no uniforms.
The IDF found some rather graphic evidence of this on the 9th January in an operation conducted by paratroopers.

According to the IDF Spokesperson:
This map, confiscated Wednesday (Jan. 7) by IDF paratroopers operating in the north of Gaza, shows how Hamas uses an entire neighborhood, rigging it with explosive devices and putting the entire civilian population at great risk. The map shows the al-Tatraa neighborhood in Gaza City divided into three areas of operation (red, blue and green). The dots on the map indicate where Hamas operatives had planted a variety of IEDs (improvised explosive devices), with the colors indicating the type of IED. Additional marks show sniper positions next to mosques. Next to the entrance of the el-Tawid mosque near to Shauuda Plaza at the top left of the map there is a sniper posting with marking indicating the direction of fire marked on the map. At the bottom center of the map there is a gas station where Hamas planted an IED which, if activated, could cause a very large explosion throughout the neighborhood.
An overall study of the map demonstrates how Hamas deliberately uses civilians, using them as live targets and hiding behind them; they plant IEDs at the enterances of homes, they booby trap homes and they use places of worship, all with no regard to collateral damage or civilian lives.
