Jihad: What every American needs to know about Jihad
According to Wikipedia, Jihad is defined: "an Islamic term, is a religious duty of Muslims. In Arabic, the word jihād is a noun meaning "struggle." Jihad appears frequently in the Qur'an and common usage as the idiomatic expression "striving in the way of Allah (al-jihad fi sabil Allah)". A person engaged in jihad is called a mujahid, the plural is mujahideen". It is stated by Muslims to merely be a way of life; a study of the Qur'an and of Islam.
Daniel Pipes perhaps has a more current and precise definition in context of todays times and Muslim actions. He states "Jihad is the legal, compulsory, communal effort to expand the territories ruled by Muslims at the expense of territories ruled by non-Muslims.
The purpose of jihad, in other words, is not directly to spread the Islamic faith but to extend sovereign Muslim power (faith, of course, often follows the flag). Jihad is thus unabashedly offensive in nature, with the eventual goal of achieving Muslim dominion over the entire globe."
This is more in line with the Qur'an and far too many of it's followers. For example, the Qur'an addresses it as:
O you who believe! Be not like those who disbelieve (hypocrites) and who say to their brethren when they travel through the earth or go out to fight: 'If they had stayed with us, they would not have died or been killed,' so that Allah may make it a cause of regret in their hearts. It is Allah that gives life and causes death. And Allah is All-Seer of what you do. And if you are killed or die in the Way of Allah, forgiveness and mercy from Allah are far better than all that they amass (of worldly wealth etc.). And whether you die, or are killed, verily, unto Allah you shall be gathered.’ (Surat-aal-Imran (3), ayah 156-158)
There are many more verses urging Muslims to do their part for Jihad and the Ummah. These are not verses cherry picked by me, but these are instead verses urging Muslims to engage in Jihad and be willing to accept a martyrs death written by IMAM SHAHEED HASAN AL-BANNA., the founder of Muslim Brotherhood, whose credo is "Allah is our objective. The Prophet is our leader. Qur'an is our law. Jihad is our way. Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope."
Think not of those who are killed in the Way of Allah as dead. Nay, they are alive, with their Lord, and they have provision. They rejoice in what Allah has bestowed upon them of His Bounty, rejoicing for the sake of those who have not yet joined them, but are left behind (not yet martyred)
that on them no fear shall come, nor shall they grieve.’ (Surat-aal-Imran (3), ayah 169-170)
Fight against those who believe not in Allah nor in the Last Day, nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger and those who acknowledge not the Religion of Truth (i.e. Islam), from among the People of the Book, until they pay the jizya with willing submission, and
feel themselves subdued.’(Surat-at-Tawbah (9), ayah 29)
The Brotherhood is in the USA under various names. The Holy Land Foundation trial has led to the release as evidence of several documents on the Muslim Brotherhood. In one of these documents, "Ikhwan in America", it is revealed that the activities of the Muslim Brotherhood in the US include going to camps to do weapons training (referred to as Special work by the Muslim Brotherhood), as well as engaging in counter-espionage against US government agencies such as the FBI and CIA (referred to as Securing the Group).
I suggest readers go to the site called YoungMuslims and see what they have to say on the subject of creating a world wide Islamic state. After reading the material, it would be too easy to assume the site was posted by Muslims in some poor third world nation, but instead we find the organization is actually in CANADA!
